Alice A. Mitchell, Ph.D. is the Manager of the Testing Office at the University of Maryland, College Park. This resource paper evaluates the degree to which use of CAS standards can assist a division of student affairs or units within that division in building a culture of assessment. Henning and Roberts’ (2016) 3 x 5 model of a culture of assessment is used to evaluate the CAS Standards. Implementation ideas and examples of successful efforts are offered throughout the paper.
